About

'Journey' was the culmination of one-and-a-half years of musical exploration, interdisciplinary creativity, and my ever-lasting strive to express sublimity and beauty through music and art.

This debut album lays out both a journey of my personal musical development, as well as a narrative journey through a surreal and vibrant world. The tracks are (mostly) ordered chronologically from the earliest works to the most recent, outlining the refinement of my musical ideas and technical abilities in digital music production as the album progresses. Meanwhile, the seamless, soundscape flow and variation of track intensity and style suggests the ups and downs of a long expedition - a journey - through a vast range of environments, both surreal and naturalistic.

What may be quickly apparent is also the appearance of some un-intelligible spoken text throughout the 'prelude' and 'artefact' interludes. These are passages spoken in 'Heminag', the constructed language from a collaborative world-building project I have been involved in since 2020. I wanted to combine that project together with this album as a means of adding a unique aesthetic character and a sense of lore to the music. As such, these spoken passages abstractly feed into the narrative journey, representing some kind of gradual revelation or transformation of a mysterious travelling being.

No translations of the texts are provided here - however, these are not necessary to understand the narrative of the album. The musical journey is where the essential story lies, and as such, I invite you as a listener to come to your own conclusions and imagine what this journey is about. Likewise, I hope you find some kind of meaningful connection to this music, whether it is simply the exciting energy from the driving grooves, or some profound beauty in the overall atmosphere of the album.
