This was my first ever music visualisation project, made using p5.js when I was working on my debut album Journey. I wanted to try and visually express the music in a manner much closer to my personal visions than conventional, off-the-shelf visualisers could afford. 'Temple of Dawn' was composed as the introduction to Journey: the first visions of a traveller setting foot in a surreal, alien world. All the music visualisations accordingly reflect this musical narrative.
From a technical standpoint, three types of audio-visualisation were used: waveform analysis (represented in the thin wavering lines), FFT spectral analysis (Fast Fourier Transform, used for both a spectral display [purple-blue band] and low-frequency band reading [central 'sun' diameter]), and event-timed animations (special animations in sync with key musical moments to add variation and life to the world of the musical landscape).
