Days EP (2018)

Days EP was the end product of my final secondary school music project - a portfolio of three major compositions musically exploring the moods and atmosphere of different times of day. 'Awaken' starts with a literal and metaphorical representation of the morning, including a dawn birdsong field recording and ambient instrumental layers slowly assembling into an organic, foley-based groove, with bright harmonies. 'Work' takes on a more artificial, industrial, and EDM influenced sound, reflecting the hustle and bustle of a city at work in the day. Finally, 'Reflections' incorporates melodic fragments from the previous two tracks, woven across a bittersweet ambient chord progression and the innocent sound of a children's playground to evoke a beautiful wash of nostalgia - the end of the day, the memories gone by.
